Over Hydration!

Can over hydration occur? And is it too much water that that brings this about? Or too many water diluted drinks in too short a period of time for the body to be able to cope with?

Our Drinking Water

I am sure that most of you have experienced drinking water on a hot day after working too hard and to some degree suffering from exhaustion. The first thing we go for is a cool drink. And if that is not available, a drink of water from the tap. Most of us are able to at least get a drink from a tap in this situation.

But I am thirsty. How could over hydration occur when what my body needs is a drink?

Ten minutes later you are thirsty again and you have another drink. The water seems to feel good going down as it cools your insides, but now you feel sort of dizzy as your stomach is full of swirling water. Your still thirstly and the more you drink, the dizzier you feel and your stomache starts to ache. This is how over hydration comes about.

Now! Imagine that you are running a race, and we have seen many athletes pushing themselves to the brink, and you want to keep up the hydration of your body during the race. A Marathon or Triathlone is a long way and to go without water and hydration for such a distance could not be anything other that damaging to the body. But still we are seeing athletes collapse with exhuastion. Or could it be "over hydration"?

This is the time to look at the facts of dehydration which is not caused by lack of water alone.

Water is the key ingredient and transporting agent for what is vitally needed, but with water alone and or drinks in excess that do not carry the vital ingredients, over hydration will occur.

So what are the "Vital Ingredients"?

These are the essential minerals and trace elements necessary to the foundation building blocks and internal communication system of our bodies. Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium and Potassium, even Silver is a trace element required for the health and functioning of our system. That salty sweat that drips down our foreheads as we crack a heavy sweat is full of these as they are leaving our body. So the rapid replacement is vital.

These are also well known as electrolytes. These are basically the communication particles within our bodies. Water will carry the electrical communication signals that we send out through the command system of or body, but with water alone the signal has trouble getting across. The conductivity of the water is greatly reduces and we now have mass effort just telling our legs to move one foot in front of the other.

So how are those sports drinks fullfilling the requirements needed to replace these lost electrolytes? There surely is a benefit from keeping the fluids up, but what artificial additives are being used to "replace" the electrolytes being lost. We read promises like: "Replace the electrolytes lost!" and "Boosted with Power Minerals!" or "70% more antioxidands that Green Tea!" It is like Wow! "This stuff must be good for me!" But if we look deep into the actual ingredient we find drinks that are high in sugar and worse than that, are actually very acidic.

So we charge our bodies with all these fluids and then just seem to lay in a dizzy swirl until the effects of over hydration calms down.

But this is not the way it is supposed to be. Our bodies are designed to work. The ones that are not working are lined up in the social security ques and although living below the poverty line, appear to be slugging around in over fed bodies. Mass obesity and incredible increases in diabetes. The bodies that are being worked are healthier and living longer. A hard working body that is correctly hydrated recovers fast and actually enjoys the feeling of fitness excercises.

When this is done correctly with the essential minerals and trace elements that are natural to the design of our bodies, over hydration is something that just doesn't occur. When you drink correctly structured water, you don't need to drink too much. Just enough to replace the fluid and electrolytes lost. You don't get over heated and you feel ready to get back into action within a short time.

You can produce your own mineralised water that is structured is a way most closely designed to that of the body's natural function. I do this with what I have called The ultimate Drinking Water! You can call it what you like. It works and you will never look back at your past years of exhaustion again.

But most importantly it is a pure source direct and unchanged straight from nature.

Warmly, Mike King
