Alkaline Water Drinking

Alkaline water is one of the main factors that you must look at when evaluating your drinking water. Not only because you should not be drinking acid rain, but mainly because of the change in the watercharacteristic when it is alkaline based. Here are a few truths.

Our Drinking Water

Kangen Water

Firstly, high ph means high alkalinity and low acidity. High alkalinity means a healthy environment for your body's internal organs and blood energy transfer systems. High acidity means an environment that willaid the growth of disease within your body. Fresh foods are high alkalinity foods. Fast foods are high acidity foods. Most of us know how we feel after a big feed of McDonald's or other fast food blitzes. Well this is what it is like to flood your body with acid.

Many of us do love to have a fast food feast when we are on the go or perhaps after a movie, but let'sfind out how we can do this without putting one more nail in our coffin. Alkaline water looks and tastes little different that any normal drinking of quality bottled water. A good source of alkaline drinking water should tast like lovely soft water from a clean mountain water stream. It is so easy to take a drinksize bottle of alkaline water with you to ensure that your body maintains the correct healthy hydrationneeded.

So how do we neutralise the acidity in our body or reverse it to a level of alkalinity that is more healthyfor our bodies system. Well! Just compare your body to a simple glass of water. Your body is about 70% wateras you may have heard before. Now, let's tip some acid into this nice clean glass of water. The acid hasnow become diluted by the water. But now the water has also become slightly acidic from the acid that hasbeen added and we now have an environment where disease can more easily grow.

So let's reverse this process. With water in it's pure form, the ph level is at the most neutral level which is 7. The highest acidity being at 0 and the highest alkalinity being at 14. Healthy is at the higher side above 7or above neutral. Most of our nice fresh vegetables like brocolli, cabbage, carots, etc are at an alkalinity level of about 8 or 9. Alright, how do we get the now acid glass of water back to at least neutral?

Let's say that after the acid was added to the glass, the ph level of the water had now fallen to a level of 5.The water is now not neutral, but is acidic. So let's now try to neutralise this water again by flushing it out with some nice clean neutral water. Now the acid level of the wter has become diluted and the aidity level is less.Let's say that is is now up to 6. Less, but it is still acidic. Right? So we add more water and we keep on reducing. All too slow and although the acid level is reducing, it is still acidic. Which means unhealthyenvironment.

So how to we speed this up. Let's say at the beginning when our water is at a ph level 5, instead of adding neutral water, we now add some alkaline water. The ph level of this water is at 9. When we add this water we have the acidity level being completely neutrlised and brought back to neutral. Infact, if we add a little more, the glass of water becomes a lovely alkaline level with the ph at about 8 or towards 9. As with raw vegetables at 8 and 9 on the ph scale, we are looking at healthy water.

So what is it about alkalinity that is healthy? I am really going to dig into this with further articles, but what you get with alkaline water is wetter water. What? Wetter? Yep! you got it. Saying that alkaline water is wetter would have to be the closest description of the characteristic when the water is alkaline. Some even callit slippery water. With the water being wetter and having a slippery characteristic, our body's digestive system is much more easily able to diges food and the neutrients from the foods that we eat. And of course the alkalinity level can balance out the acid that we have been consuming during our Fast Food Feast.

Happy drinking.

Warmly, Mike King.
